1 - Highclere Castle - Tv drama series Downton Abbey 2010
The reason I would love to move in is because I feel that there is aristocracy in my blood somewhere, and this is the kind of surroundings I deserve. However as hard as I try, I can find no trace of blue blood anywhere in my family, which seems genetically rather unfair to me.

2 - Great Chalfield Manor - Tv drama series Wolf Hall 2015
The reason I want to live here is because it is so thick with history, and at the same time, incredibly pretty. There is something about the combination of ancient stone and flowers that pushes all the right buttons for me. Also, Wolf Hall and The Mirror and the Light are superb dramas. Hilary Mantel’s books are excellent too - once you get into them.

3 - Arundel Castle - Multiple dramas and films. It is often a stand in for Windsor Castle
The reason I want to live here is because it’s mine anyway. I decided it belonged to me when I was eight years old, but the Duke of Norfolk seems to think it’s his and I cannot persuade him to leave. In any event I’ve always loved the place, and the library in particular.

4 - Hever Castle - Anne of a Thousand Days - 1969 Lady Jane - 1986
The reason I would love to live here is because it is such a pretty castle. Also, I love what William Waldorf Astor did to the place. From the wonderful sitting room to his splendid Italian gardens.
Stone and flowers again, I just love the combination

5 - Eltham Palace - Lots and lots of tv and film dramas, too many to list
The reason I like Eltham is similar to Hever. It’s the combination of periods under one roof. From it’s magnificent medieval hall to the Art Decco interiors. It was the childhood home of Henry VIII and also the 1930’s millionaire socialites the Courtaulds, who had a pet ring tailed lemur called Mah-Jongg.
