This is the first of an occasional series – short film visits to some of the places I love, here in Britain.
The idea is a simple one. Five minutes, a little music, no commentary to speak of: just enough to give you a taste of a place, the way you might catch it if you’d wandered in yourself.
These will not be regular posts, they’ll simply turn up now and then, like a postcard from somewhere good.
I hope you enjoy them. We begin in Surrey on a beautiful spring morning.
Watts Memorial Chapel and gallery is located Compton, Surrey, England – a small terracotta jewel built at the turn of the last century, every inch of it decorated by hand. Just along the lane is the gallery and Limnerslease, the home of George and Mary Watts.
If you would like to read more about the chapel, you can read my accompanying article Seventy Pairs of Hands, here.
I hope you enjoy the visit. - Vincent
